Damian Marley may be well known for welcoming you to Jam-rock but in 1996 he released his first album, Mr. Marley. A picture of Damian and his father, Bob, on the cover shows how influential the father was to the son. Mr. Marley is a dedication to Bob Marley as well as an album of original music and remakes. Damian has great respect for his father and it shows in the care he brings to this project. High lights include the songs, “Love and Inity”, “One More Cup of Coffee”, “Me Name Jr. Gong”, and “Mr. Marley”. The album is superb and allows a fan to see the progression of a new Marley on the rise. The album was produced by Stephen Marley.
Damian Marley is a true icon.I never knew him before he came to Trinidad for his concert.I couldnt go to his concert since I’m ill but I still listen to his music everyday. Ilove his music………..he sings for the people, for everyone. His music is everywhere.The youths learn a lot from him. my friends went to his concert and they were very pleased.I would love to see him one day so that he would know that he’s truly loved and blesssed.There’s no one like him.So here’s 2 u Damian ‘jr gong’ Marley for giving the youths a better meaning to life.
